Micro and Small Enterprise Capital Grant Scheme

Grants to support investments in Micro and Small Enterprise.
This Yorkshire Dales Local Action Group (LAG) invites applications from new and existing micro and small businesses, including social enterprises, located in the rural area, that are looking to expand, create new jobs, and increase their profitability. The purpose of this Grant is to support applications which are looking to:
·           Establish a new rural business
·           Grow or expand an existing rural micro or small business.

Grant opens – 16th May 2016
Deadline for submission – 25th July 2016 at 17:00
Min/ Max – £2,500 to £35,000

Yorkshire Dales Capital Tourism Grant

Grants to support investments in the tourism sector.
The tourism sector includes any business that provides goods and/or services demanded by visitors, and where visitor spend represents a significant share of their trade that, in the absence of visitors, their business would cease to exist in a meaningful way.
The Yorkshire Dales LEADER Local Action Group wishes to fund applications from projects that will:
·         Result in the creation of new jobs and employment opportunities
·         Improve the profitability of rural business
·         Encourage collaboration between enterprises

Upland Farm Capital Grant Scheme

This grant is for businesses with long-term investment plans.
The Yorkshire Dales Local Action Group (LAG) invites applications for capital investments and business development grants from new and existing micro and small farming businesses, including social enterprises located within the rural Yorkshire Dales LEADER area. The purpose of this grant is to support projects which require capital assistance to:
·         Develop the resilience, profitability and sustainability of farming business through collaboration, added value local product, new technology and research
·         Support innovation, entrepreneurial activity and diversification in order to improve quality and profitability
·         Support the development of small scale bio/renewable energy generating capacity.

Forestry Capital Grant Scheme

Grants to support investments in the bio energy supply chains.
The Yorkshire Dales Local Action Group (LAG) invites applications for capital investments and business development grants from new and existing micro, small and medium businesses, including social enterprises located within the rural Yorkshire Dales LEADER area. The purpose of this grant is to support projects which require capital assistance to:
·         Develop the resilience, profitability and sustainability of forestry business through collaboration and added value local product;
·         Introduce new technology, goods, processes and timber services;
·         Create new jobs and employment opportunities in forestry and timber processing in the rural Yorkshire Dales LEADER area;
·         Generate energy from locally sourced timber;
·         Address long-term market failure in the local forest supply chain;
·         Bring local woodlands into management and enhance their natural value;
·         Strengthen the forestry and timber processing supply chain by supporting collaborative arrangements between businesses.

Integrated Rural Mobility

The purpose of this grant is to support innovative and flexible rural transport solutions that are demand responsive, inter modal (across all types of transport; rail, bus, cycle for example) and multipurpose. This grant may also support the process of project development to ensure best practice within major infrastructure projects, for example, project options selection and development, research into accessibility.
Projects might address:
·         Assisting young people with access to work or to post 16 schooling or further training
·         Combining normally separate transport services such as elderly transport service, hospital travel, school transports and commuting to work
·         Improving peoples access into the wider rural area, into employment hubs, by, for example, facilitating linkage between train timetables, buses, taxis or car share schemes
·         Improving infrastructure to introduce a new service or enable expansion of an existing one
·         Reducing car dependency within the rural communities and within tourism through intertwined transport solutions.

Min/ Max – £5,000 to £90,000
